Preschool Prep...

Since my big brother and I are off to class today, the occasion calls for a preppy look with a trendy twist. I've noticed that neons and vintage 80's are back. I can't imagine what it was like to grow up during that horrendous fashion era. But today, preschool is just not the same without classic polos, so pop those collars and away we go.

My handsome pain of a brother has a style that is uniquely his, which I call sporty prep. He loves to be comfortable in athletic wear and will occasionally agree to a polo. If we're really lucky, we can bribe him into a button down, but only on the rare occasion. Today, he has on a cool Navy polo with modern rugged printed numbers found only at Zara Kids. Layered with a light blue and gray long sleeve tee, and you've got his signature look. Dark washed jeans, and a military style jacket for that tough boy effect.

As for me, I'm thinking "Girls just wanna have fun." I paired hot pink skinny jeans with a neutral navy and white striped tunic, that has a pop of neon green on the neck. I layered my brothers old polo shirt underneath for my "popped collar" look and accessorized by layering a poppy pink and a pink lace headband together.

Guess what I'll be singing in circle time today? "I just a wanna... girls just wanna have fun."

Manic Monday...

Why do Mondays seem like the busiest day of the week? For us, it's a hurried get-up-and-go kind of morning, as we rush off to work with mom.  Also known as "the gym".  I'm ever the little busy bee, so putting together creative attire is fitting my mood just right. This is lesson #101 on how to transform a less than desirable dress. There are times when you recieve gifts of clothing that just aren't quite your style. Here I've chosen a dress that has a denim overall bib with courdoroy print skirt, that makes me look more like the farmer's daughter and less of the Suburban child I am.  When you are faced with this dilema, just cover it up with a cute sweater or top, and turn that dress into a skirt.

A long sleve pink tee, embellished with a tulle flower on the front is a simple choice to cover the country girl overall look. With only the printed skirt showing, I'm feeling ready to explore my artistic side. I love layering in the winter- Navy leggings are an obvious choice, but with the cute little sparkley buttons at the ankles, it shows just a touch of bling. Brightly colored striped socks, cranberry mary-janes, and a chambray headband, finish off my eclectic style.

As The Bangles have said "It's just another manic Monday." Off to art class. Toodles, CC

Snow Angel...

Freshly fallen snow is today's forecast. So I'll embrace it by looking like a soft snow angel. And every angel baby's best accessory is her halo. But don't think for one second, that I'm going to lay down in that cold wet stuff and make snow angels. That is definitely not my cup of milk, if you know what I mean. However, with a little faith and prayer, my Spring will come soon enough.

Wearing a knit halo in a soft pink with hints of metallic threading for sparkle, makes me want to sing Hallelujah; thanks for keeping my ears warm. Isn't it the most darling thing you've ever seen? A pretty pink floral top with layers of ruffles and a delicate flower embellishment is sweet and angelic. Taupe leggings, chocolate sweater, pink and brown swing coat and brown riding boots complete my ensemble of pure innocence.

Earth Angel, Earth Angel, won't you be mine... Sending wings of love, CC

Plaid About You...

I'm absolutely mad about plaid. Channeling my inner Irish dancer, the side we'll call my fine half. Although momma describes it as though I'm up to my usual Shenanigans, which entails climbing (or dancing) on tables and dumping out several boxes of toys. Someone has got to keep the poor woman busy.

Making a statement in my best plaid dress, with its adorable green and pink pattern. The bib style top keeps an updated look with it's pleated skirt and bronze hardware. Layered monochromatically with black ruched leggings, a black tank, black and white stripe socks, keeps the focus on my dress. Chilly willy here, so I chose a bright pink cardi for warmth, while playing up the pink in the plaid pattern.

Feeling lawdy daw in my aul dol look. Let the foot stomping and leg kicking begin. I'm sure I'll get a spot in this years Irish Fest.

Winter Wonderland

When living in the Midwest, you can always be certain about one thing: winters last a LONG time. Today is a perfect example, as we had fresh snowfall to play in. It was the ideal time to break in my newest winter cap that I found for a total steal at one of my favorite stores, The Children's Place. It makes me want to sing "If all the snowflakes were chocolate chips and pancakes, Oh what a snow it would be."

Sporting a pretty knit cap in shades of purples, blues and cream makes my blue eyes shine. The purple stitching on the edges, tassles by the ears and cute little pom-poms on the side sing "I'm all about the details". Lilac leggings with lacey trimmed ankles, cream tunic with a gathered neckline and tulle flower, and lavender hoodie jacket complete my sweet ski-bunny look.

The only question now is Vail or Aspen? Later tater, CC

Floral Spot...

With lovely spring on it's way to me, all I can think about are pretty blooming flowers. All shades of cranberry, plum, orange and yellow dance off the backdrop of green grass. Just because I'm a toddler, does not mean I need to shy away from a mature color pallete. There is more out there for us little girls than pastel pink.

Let's hit the sweet floral spot with a blooming springtime skirt, donning a sophisticated floral print. Matched up with my darling pumpkin tee, detailed with a scoop-neck and bow, is sure to put me into the next age bracket - one and a half. Finish the look with cranberry mary-janes, and a cream cardigan with gold threads and bow details, and now I'm a vision of a garden in bloom.

Oh Spring, please come soon. See you next time, CC

Carpe Diem...

I'm feeling like a pint-size Parisian... My day is all about grazing on marvelous cheeses and freshly baked croissants, while looking at a fabulous view of the Eiffel Tower. At least I saw that in a movie once. For now, my string cheese and wheat thins will have to suffice, but one day, my life will be so a` la mode.

My first stop at the cafe` calls for a black satin bubble dress, complete with an empire waist line and front bow detailing. A large floral red print and white dots is timeless. On my legs I decided to play up the cherry red with matching tights, and a pair of black and leapord mary-janes. Being glam is a must in Paris, so a faux fur shrug and champaign colored hairband is nothing less than baby couture.

As I always say... avoir du cachet (have style), CC

I Heart Pink and Red...

Cutie Cupid here, spreading lots of love on this Valentine's Day! I think once a week, every baby girl should get to wake up to yummy chocolates and sweet toys. I'm celebrating in a festive way by fashioning an adorable Red and Pink ensemble.

A sweetheart red dress trimmed in tulle, and printed with necklace accessories, just makes my heart smile. It's still cold in the Midwest, so let's keep my legs warm with candy pink leggings that have ruching at the ankles, and a pair of ballet flat socks with red dots. Accessories are a must - a pretty pink bow with red hearts says "Be Mine". Baby girl fashion never tasted so sweet.

Is it time to open my box of chocolates? Candy Kisses, CC

These Boots Are Made For Walkin....

There are times in your fashion life when you get a new piece and you love it so much that you must wear it as much as possible. For me, that pertains to my new riding boots. Maybe there is a cowgirl in me dying to get out.

Today was all about story time at our favorite book store, Barnes and Noble. Looking darling is a must when I head to the mall. What better way to show off my boots than with a pair of navy twill shorts with a geometric print? I paired it with a hot-pink scoop neck, three-quarter length tee. The tulle detail and flower on the neckline is totally bananas. I layered a bright pink sleeveless cardigan, and white tights for warmth. This mini equestrian is ready for a little window shopping.

Ooh, must have that cute dress. CC

Cotton Candy...

I'm all about the sweet theme this week in lieu of Valentine's Day. Who doesn't love a holiday that is all about sending love with sweet treats?  If cupcakes and sweetarts are the muse, then I'll be your cotton candy cutie.

Some days I just have to dress up like the sweet baby girl I am. Cotton candy pink courdoroy pants trimmed in pink ribbons, reminds everyone how girly and festive I am. My scoop neck long sleeve tee with the Parisian puppy is too cute for baby talk. Matching socks and bow accessories of pink leopard print couldn't look any sweeter than a bowl of pink M&M's.

One more cupcake please. Yum. CC

Addicted to Chocolate...

I inherited my momma's sweet tooth. I say forget diamonds, chocolate has got to be a girl's best friend.  When you want to celebrate, you treat yourself to an indulgent dessert, and when you're sad you turn to chocolate for comfort. That's a best friend in my lofty opinion.

With Valentine's Day around the corner, let's express our love for chocolate. Starting with my chocolate knit cardigan, over a chocolate tee with a teeny white dot print and pastel pink fabric roses along the neckline. Subtle details make all the difference. Pairing brown with sweetheart pink leggings is a no brainer. I accessorized with a headband that perfectly matches my tee. Finished my ensemble with my brand new chocolate brown riding boots, embellished with pretty pink flowers. A perfect outfit to indulge in my favorite sweets. Shall it be brownies or cupcakes?

Hey, I was certain these boots came with a pony. Choc O Later, CC.

In the Navy...

Paying homage here to my grandaddy Bobby, who was a retired Navy sailor. Maybe that's why I love this color so much! In all honesty, I find it to be chic and timeless. Also, the pink and Navy hues are the perfect compliment to my skin tone and eye color. As they say in the fashion world, wear clothing that most flatters you.

This is a simple layered outfit for any easy day of play. Navy slim fitted leggings, topped with a tiered pink floral summer dress, which now fits nicely as a tunic. Cover up with a pretty navy cardigan that has girly ruffle detail down the front, and you simply can't go wrong. Add a couple matching accessories and your look is complete.

Ever a girl on the go...now I'm ready to sail the seven seas. Sail you later, CC
