So Minnie....

Today I'm deriving all my inspiration from one of my favorite fashion icons, Minnie Mouse. Show me a 1 year old girl who isn't fascinated by the cute and sweet Minnie, and I'll show you a pig that can actually fly. It must be her signature style of pink, polka dots and bows, oh my!

Starting with my adorable poppy pink tank dress, adorned with a silky white bow on the empire waistline, and white polka dots just screams "Disneyland here I come". Layered over a pair of slate gray leggings and under a smokey gray knit cardigan, keeps the look from getting too whimsical. A pair of dainty white ballet flats are a perfect match. Let's not forget the signature hair bow - mine is a bright pink and white flower clipped on a white headband. Too cute for words.

Palm Beach....

When the warm weather hits, all I can think of is looking beach ready. Today I'm going with one of my classic looks called "Palm Beach meets Midwest". I adore the classic Navy and crisp white look in a tailored outfit. It states that I'm sophisticated and polished at the ripe old age of one. Who isn't? With a stylish look like this, I will be ready for lunch on the dock, cruising on the boat, and even shopping at the waterfront boutiques. Or in my case today, the local park. Sigh. I believe I missed my boat.

My white poplin capris timmed in the navy bows, are as classic as they are comfortable. (Don't worry moms out there; my mommy dunks all my clothes in Oxi-Clean before washing, so the stains come right out.) Coupled with my sleeveless A-line navy and white floral top says I'm a baby with a polished look. For accessories, I went with my timeless white bucket hat with the Navy ribbons and white ballet flats. Layer a pretty navy cardigan in case its chilly, and you'll stay in keeping with the classic Palm Beach look. Don't forget the best accessory ever, your family English Bulldog all in white!

Yachting anyone? Sea you starboard, CC

Easy Sunday....

Today I'm feeling Lionel Richie easy.  Easy like Sunday morning. Like most people, my Sundays are relaxing, fun and easy, especially when the sun is shining down. So choosing a chic yet casual ensemble will suit any activity that comes my way, whether it's the swings or the slide.

What could be more American casual than a white t-shirt and jeans? Starting with my coolest white henley, complete with an eyelet neckline and rolled button sleeves, gives this baby a definite hip look for the playgound. On the bottom I'm wearing my chambray capris with pink buttons- light and cool for warmer days. Overlay a fuscia pink knit sleeveless cardi for a pop of color, and I'll stay warm even if those lake winds start blowing. Accessories are a must, so white flats and layering a white and chambray headband give me the absolute adorable look I'm going for. With an outfit like this, I have no doubts I'll be the hippest toddler in the sandbox.

Lionel Richie said it right, "I wanna be free, just me babe."  Have an easy breezy day, CC

Lavender and Lace....

It has been quite a dreary past week and I'm positive we received our last bit of snow, so I'm re-emerging on the fashion blog scene with a spring in my step. Is there anything more alive with springtime than a burst of lavender and a touch of lace? I think not.

So here I am in a slim pair of  lavender leggings with a ladylike trim of lace above the ankles. An adorable tunic in a soft gray and white polka dots, is edged with the frilliest lilac tulle on the bottom, and a pretty little tulle flower on the top. Layered with a lilac frilly shrug brings out the purple flowers in my headband. On my feet I'm wearing lavender ballet flat socks and white lacey shoes. I'm all lady and loving it.

Bye Bye winter blues! Hello blue skies. All yours, CC

Tinsel Town...

Time to bust out of my gloomy rut with some sparkle and shine. Just because my name isn't in lights (yet) does not mean my style has to reflect that. Like they always say, dress for the part you want, not the part you have. For me that starts with envisioning my own toddler fashion line... five years from now, amongst the bright lights of the big city designing a line of high fashion for little girls. What? Five years old must be a big girl, especially since my mom looks likes she's twenty. (My mom asked me to plug that in for her.)

So how does a stylish toddler look great for Tinsel Town? By starting with some shimmer. I chose my grey velour skirt that gives off the softest sheen, then matched it with my cream long sleeve top, embellished with a fabric bow and printed in multi-colored polka dots of red, cranberry and silver. Keeping legs warm is still a priority, so I went with an old pair of my infant white leggings that have cute bow detailing and now fit nicely as capris. Red polka dot socks, crocheted ballet flats, and cranberry beret add just enough flare for my city look.

I've got an empire state of mind. Till next time, CC

Grey Day...

If there is one thing you can count on with Midwestern living, it's plenty of gloomy, dreary days. My mood is saying "Oh the weather outside is frightful". When that happens, I turn to a look of soft greys and pinks to sweeten my sour mood. Sunny days are just around the corner.

I'm going with a monochromatic look in hues of grey. I started with my light cotton dress in a pale grey dotted in a charcoal grey print. I covered the top with my knit pewter grey sweater. Keeping legs warm is a must, so I layered a pair of pink footless tights, found at one of my favorite shopping stops, Target. They have cutest little flower prints all over them, to match the pink flower on my sweater. Pink ballet flats and pink headband keep me from feeling too blah from this weather.

Just because the sun isn't shining today, doesn't mean my style won't be. Cheer up buttercup. CC

Carpe Diem...

I'm feeling like a pint-size Parisian... My day is all about grazing on marvelous cheeses and freshly baked croissants, while looking at a fabulous view of the Eiffel Tower. At least I saw that in a movie once. For now, my string cheese and wheat thins will have to suffice, but one day, my life will be so a` la mode.

My first stop at the cafe` calls for a black satin bubble dress, complete with an empire waist line and front bow detailing. A large floral red print and white dots is timeless. On my legs I decided to play up the cherry red with matching tights, and a pair of black and leapord mary-janes. Being glam is a must in Paris, so a faux fur shrug and champaign colored hairband is nothing less than baby couture.

As I always say... avoir du cachet (have style), CC

I Heart Pink and Red...

Cutie Cupid here, spreading lots of love on this Valentine's Day! I think once a week, every baby girl should get to wake up to yummy chocolates and sweet toys. I'm celebrating in a festive way by fashioning an adorable Red and Pink ensemble.

A sweetheart red dress trimmed in tulle, and printed with necklace accessories, just makes my heart smile. It's still cold in the Midwest, so let's keep my legs warm with candy pink leggings that have ruching at the ankles, and a pair of ballet flat socks with red dots. Accessories are a must - a pretty pink bow with red hearts says "Be Mine". Baby girl fashion never tasted so sweet.

Is it time to open my box of chocolates? Candy Kisses, CC

Wild Child...

Mondays can be hurried and chaotic. I barely have enough time to dictate this blog to my mom. So to make things easier on my mommy, I chose a matching 2 piece outfit. I rarely wear these types of outfits because I much prefer to express my creative side. However, anything with an animal print is sure to show my inner wild child.

This is an Emily Rose 2 piece with varied patterns and textures. The bold zebra print in courdoroy against the bright pink empire waist top in cotton, detailed with a black and white polka dot ribbon, just makes me want to scream with glee. And I do, quite often to my mom's displeasure. Then add the pair of matching pink pants with the bows on the ankles, and I'm prepared for any untamed environment... such as kids care. I fear nothing, not even mixing prints with a pair of leopard flats.

Ooh baby baby it's a wild world. CC

Tea Party ...

Sweet and delicate is the theme of the day. If I was having a tea party with some of my best friends, what shall I wear?

I'd start with an Earl Grey eyelet, tank dress that displays soft whispers of loveliness. Then I would cover my tiny shoulders in a pewter-grey knit shrug, and the most darling cream colored crocheted flats. It's just not English tea without cream. Polish my look with a pink and cream headband and white tights for warmth. Now I look as sweet as a plate of butter cookies. Don't forget to bundle up with a grey fur-trimmed coat and fuscia knit cap.

Putting together a brill look is as simple as a cup of English Breakfast. Go ahead- look smashing at your own tea party.

 Bye for now dahling, CC

Groovy Kind Of Love ...

Being the lovely baby sister that I am, today was all about spending quality time with my handsome brother. I would describe our relationship as equal parts love and hate - we love each other dearly but he hates it when I play with his toys. What can I say? Sometimes its fun to rock the boat a little.

Chilly winds are still blowing, but that won't deter me from a groovy little look. My 70's inspired frock top will do the trick. With its big floral pattern in a purple and aqua color pallete, my blue eyes get brighter. Put on a bucket hat in the same color pallete and you hardly notice the differing patterns. Throw on my favorite purple skinny jeans, smoky-grey sweater coat and Way-Farers, and off to play we go. Totally his choice on venue, not mine.

We definitely got a groovy kind of love. Tomorrow is all mine, CC

Princess Grace

What little lady isn't inspired by Grace Kelly? Simplicity and feminine are two key looks that always work, no matter what the occassion is.

Every girl has fashion icons that inspire her style. A few of mine are Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, Jackie Kennedy O, Rachel Zoe,and more recently Bee from the fashion blog Atlantic-Pacific . Her wardrobe is to die for.

Here I have a cream, empire wasted, sleeveless dress. A few embroidered flowers on the neckline and pleats add just a touch of detail. I couldn't resist wearing my favorite shoes, leopard print mary jane's trimmed in black patent leather. Adding one feminine accessory, such as a leapord and pink bow on a lacey hair band, keeps me feeling like a true princess. Don't forget the Ray-ban inspired shades... so key for every fashion plate baby.

Till we meet again, CC
